Module IV· Curve Balls & Stress QuestionsAdvanced
Question
How do you respond to 'What recently bored you?' or 'What do you find boring in IB?'
Answer
Trap
Saying 'nothing bores me' sounds fake. Saying 'formatting pitchbooks' can sound immature.
Strong answer
Name a genuinely repetitive task, then explain why it still matters and how you handled it professionally.
Example
'Refreshing trading comps can be repetitive. Updating the same multiples across companies is not intellectually glamorous. But I learned that those details form the basis for valuation discussion, so I built a checklist to make the refresh faster and error-free. The task was repetitive, but the output mattered.'
What is tested
realistic expectations. Banking includes repetitive work; the question is whether you can do it carefully anyway.
